Tsunami warning for Hawaii and the Pacific cancelled
The tsunami
warning issued for the US state of Hawaii following a massive earthquake in Chile has been lifted. And this might also apply for Fiji and the surrounding Pacific region.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said on its website that based on all available data, there was no longer a destructive tsunami threat to these states following it’s initial tsunami warning.
It also said some coastal areas in Hawaii may still experience sea level changes or strong currents lasting for several more hours.
