Fijian born Paulini hoping to fire up her career

PAULINI sizzles with her new single Fireman and has enlisted some of NSW’s finest to help launch her comeback.

Firefighters Brad Martin, Ben Ziekenheiner and Eamonn Crean co-star alongside the former Young Diva in the video, which was shot at Penrith’s Museum Of Fire recently and hits the cyberwaves tomorrow.

The song was inspired by the overly enthusiastic reaction of some young women after a fire truck went roaring past them on a New York street when Paulini was on a writing trip there last year.

“They were going off, waving and cheering the firemen,” she said. “I don’t think (firefighters) get a lot of praise for what they do and these guys put their lives on the line every day, so why not do a song which celebrates the amazing work they do?”

The firefighters in the shoot are no strangers to being appreciated by women – they have also featured in the annual NSW Firefighters calendar which raises funds for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

But they admitted to enjoying being part of the music video shoot.

“We’re giving up our day jobs as we speak,” joked Ziekenheiner.

Their involvement isn’t all about the glamour of the pop world; Ziekenheiner and his colleagues are also keen to add their voices to the fire prevention message, reminding people to check their alarm batteries.

Paulini has been signed up as an ambassador for the World Firefighters Games in Sydney this October, where she will perform Fireman.
