Force lapsed in serving people: PM
Fiji Police Force members in some instances have lapsed in protecting and serving the people of Fiji.
Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama made the comment while opening the Police Leadership Symposium at Nasova yesterday.
Commodore Bainimarama said there have been circumstances where personal interest and selfish thinking has provided the basis for “protecting and serving” people.
“Seeding a culture of good leadership” will first and foremost require you to be selfless and focused on the higher intent, he said.
He reminded officers who were present that good leadership is about understanding those under your command while at the same time maintaining a check on the mission at hand.
