Kurtley Beale on starting line up for Rebels

Melbourne Rebels coach Damien Hill has named his team to face the Reds in Brisbane on Saturday, with his backline receiving a welcome boost as Wallabies high-flyer Kurtley Beale returns from injury.

Beale will play his first game of the 2012 tournament after suffering from an ongoing hamstring injury.

Hill has made several changes to the starting line-up with Luke Jones moving to lock and replacing Adam Byrnes, who was banned for 10 weeks after an eye-gouging complaint by Waratahs centre Tom Carter in the Waratahs’ 35-19 round-two win last weekend. The Rebels are currently appealing the verdict but Jones will have to step into the second row for the time being.

Hugh Davidson cracks the nod and will get his first start of the year at flank. Meanwhile, in the backline, Mark Gerrard shifts from fullback to right wing and Richard Kingi will also start at scrumhalf.

Skipper and centre Stirling Mortlock is still out with a calf injury.
