assyd kayumActing Prime Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, says the public now has a greater level of expectation when it comes to customer service.

Sayed-Khaiyum says if customers are treated well, they will also respond positively.

“The general public’s expectation is that they will be served well.

So if you have a monopoly of supplying electricity don’t think that they will simply get it from you – they will also expect a level of service from you.

They’ll also expect that you talk to them politely – the same way I am sure you want to be treated politely – if you want a service from somebody else.”

Sayed-Khaiyum made the statement while speaking to the Fiji Electricity Authority staff during their bonus pay-out announcement.
