Vasiteri loses Connacht contract after eye gouging ban

vasiteriConnacht Rugby have confirmed the signing of former New Zealand Sevens player Pita Ahki to replace Fijian Eroni Vasiteri.

Vasiteri’s move to Connacht was shelved this week after he was handed a nine week ban for eye gouging in Australia.

The lesson our rugby players should learn from these incidents is no matter how tough the game is, just play it clean and no dirty tactics. There’s no place for dirty players in rugby now.  KEEP RUGBY CLEAN…

Meanwhile, tomorrow’s National Rugby Championship battle is expected be a thriller as pre-tournament favorites Queensland Country take on the underdogs, the Fiji Airways Drua.

Drua captain John Stewart says, physical, mental and team bonding will need to be used for the full eighty minutes of the match.

“It’s all about mental toughness, how we prepare ourselves in and off the field, our team morale and this will all boost us in the field.”

The Fiji Airways Drua side will take on Queensland Country tomorrow at 2pm, at Lautoka’s Churchill Park.
